MR assigning Unit Security for hundreds of units

Hello,

I have a customer that is 450 lines under a reporting tree definitiion, and each one has Unit Security defined. They are adding individual users instead of groups. They have a new controller, and need to add her to the Unit Security. Is there a way to script in access for her account instead of having to manually assign it? If they assign the user to one of the lines for unit security, does it roll down to all of the others in the reporting tree, or is it a line by line security setting?

Hello Kayla,

There is a feature built into Report Designer which should accomplish what you are asking. Double-click the Unit Security field in a reporting tree for a summary unit you want to modify, and check the option "Add security to children reporting units". This will then add the user to all child reporting units for the level you selected. Be sure to save a copy of the tree before testing in case the wrong unit is selected.
