Hi,

I am working with a third party tool named eOne SmartConnect for creating a mapping that trigger the creation of a file when a Lead is created or updated, this mapping is in real-time.

SmartConnect creates an assembly within CRM, so when I register the mapping 2 steps are created within CRM (SDK Messages: Create/Update).

When I create a new Lead I can see inside the System Jobs within CRM (in Configuration module) that the value for the Status Reason is Incorrect or Failed. When checking the detail of this error I can see this:

Does anybody know why this error?

Thanks a lot,

Alberto.

    Hi Alberto,

If I understand correctly, SmartConnect is registering plugin steps dynamically based on the data you set up in CRM, and after you set it up for Leads you're getting that error. This seems like it's an issue with SmartConnect being able to reach one of the destinations it's integrating with, or possibly communicating back to SmartConnect to verify a license or something. I'd try checking all your connecting information and verifying your endpoints are up, but if that looks good then I'd check out the eOne forums for more specialized advise.

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as a Verified answer.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    Thanks a lot Aiden.

I can see I am receiving this error when I put the Destination to an external Web Service, but when I set the Destination to Export to a file (like Excel file) it works and don't send the error. I have modified the web service configuration within SmartConnect.

Do you know how to change the timeout parameter for System Jobs within CRM?

    Thanks a lot!

    Alberto.

    Hi Alberto,

In on-prem you can change the timeout value but not in online - but that's not what's happening. The SmartConnect code isn't able to connect to the external service and the timeout is because the SC code is done waiting. Increasing the timeout in that won't help, it'll just take longer before it times out. There's some problem with establishing the connection which is causing the problem.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    Thanks Aiden.

I checked the web service configuration within SmartConnect and I was using the .SVC web service and I changed it to the .ASMX Web Service and the status reason in System Jobs was marked as Correct.

    Thanks.

    Alberto.
