Moving from standard whs to WMS warehouse (recommendations)

Hi everyone!

I'm moving in the next weeks operations in a D365 standard warehouse to a WMS warehouse. It has about 2 years of transactions.

Items need to be converted also to have hierarchy, a new storage group and the unit sequence group that will be done using native WMS functionality.

Inventory is already placed in the locations so no physical move is required.

What would be the best way, effective and efficient to "move" the inventory from the standard '01' warehouse to the new '101' WMS warehouse? An inventory movement negative in the old warehouse and positive in the new one? a Transfer order from '01' to '101'?

Any comments are much appreciated

    Hi Héctor! Hope you're doing well.

    Do you try to convert directly the "old" warehouse into a WMS warehouse?

    There are several standar processes that helps you to enable WMS processes for existing warehouse and items
