My copy and paste function for journal entries is no longer working. I am receiving the error "Not privileged to run this report" This function worked for me one time and then ceased to work. How can I fix this issue?

I had this problem as well, and it turns out the same error message comes up if you try to copy/paste a line item with $0's in the credit and debit fields. Every line needs a value >0, either in debit or credit. This solved it for me, hope others can be benefited as well, especially since this is WAY easier to implement before getting you admin/IT security support involved.
Does the validation report indicate an issue?
Can you have someone log in as 'sa' to ensure it is not a security issue?

The Support Debugging Tool Security Profiler can be a great help in determining the security setting that is hindering you.
We followed the above steps but I am still unable to copy from Excel and paste into a transaction entry. Now when I select paste it prints a GL Transaction Paste Validation report but does not paste the copied information into my transaction. Any suggestions?
Thank you, very helpful!
You will need to assign access to the "GL Transactions Paste Validation Report". In my case, I added it to the TRX_FIN_001* Task by going to the Security Task Setup window and selecting Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Type: Reports, Series: Financial, and User Type: Full, and placing a checkmark next to the "GL Transactions Paste Validation Report". You can add it to whichever Security Task makes sense for your environment.
Hello,
That certainly is an odd message for using the Copy Paste functionality. However, this message typically indicates a security issue. Below is the article that support uses to specifically identify the security task or report that needs to be given to resolve the error:
857086 Error message when you try to log on to Microsoft Dynamics GP or open a window or a report in Microsoft Dynamics GP: "You don't have security privileges to this window. Contact your system administrator for assistance

Note that while the error in the article is not the same, the steps to troubleshoot would be the same.
Thank you,
