"Period for does not exist" in posting inventory adjustment journal in D365FO

End users are suddenly unable to post inventory adjustments, receiving an error indicating that the period does not exist.

However, when a system administrator attempts the same posting, it processes successfully.

I checked the user's roles, he has everything that let him post the journals.

Hello, the fiscal period is not open for transaction date.

Ensure a open period is open on general ledger.

General Ledger > Ledger setup > Fiscal Calendars

Diego Mancassola thank you for your response.

I've already made sure from the ledger and fiscal calendar, and it's operating and open for this period.

Adding that as mentioned previously, the users having system administrator role, can post normally.

Hi,

Can you tell us if you checked if the periods are created and open for posting? Also check the module status if there are limitations set for user groups only.

If the settings are correct, can you then verify if there was a recent change to the environment, like deployment of customizations? If so, does the update or customization has changes related to security or fiscal periods?

At this point, seems a limitation on the model access on Ledger Calendars.

Check it out on General Ledger > Calendar > Ledger Calendar

Seems some restriction on specific users.

It's already granted for all users, and no customization has been made at any security level.

If you assign the System Administration role to the user, does it allow the transaction to post?
Also, is this issue occurring for all transactions, or only for this specific transaction?

The users having System Administration role can post the transaction.
And we're just using the warehouse management system and inventory, not all the system.

1. No user group is connected with the inventory journal name.

2. I tried the posting after few days and it worked on the same environment without any changes on the system.

There may be cache issues, which can potentially be resolved by running cleanup-related batch jobs.
