Hi,

We have bought a Customer Engagement Plan for 10 users and created a new dynamics environment.

If I want to create a new environment in the same tenant,does it have additional cost?

If Someone could help me that would be much appreciated.

Hi partner,

Here are the prerequisites for creating a new environment.

1. Your license determines whether you can create environments.

Dynamics 365 trial	Yes (one)	No
Dynamics 365 Plans	Yes (one)	Yes
Power Apps plan	Yes (one)	Yes
Power Apps trial	Yes (one)	Yes
Power Virtual Agents trial plan	Yes	No
Power Virtual Agents plan	No	Yes

To determine which license a user has, sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center and follow the steps in Assign licenses to multiple users on the Active users page.

2. Environment creation requires 1GB of available database capacity.

As long as these two points are met, you will be able to successfully create a new environment.

Thanks for your reply.

I have few follow up questions:

1)Does Dynamics 365 Plans includes any of the below plans.Does it mean if I have any one of the plans below I can create Trial and Production environment until I have storage capacity.

2)The above licences are user based subscriptions.How would I know the capacity?Is the storage capacity I have to specify while buying the licences?

Hi

For the first one, did you opt for any special plan? If not, it will be chargeable. But I will still suggest to ask your Technical Account Manager & consult.

With any plan you should be able to create 2 sandbox & 1 Production instance. Then you can add sandbox & production instances will additional licenses & costs

Storage capacity is limited and you would have to buy that separately from Microsoft as per need. You will start getting notification/alert as soon as you use 80% of total capacity but since storage is elastic, you can continue use & buy storage in the meantime.

Buying licenses & storage are two different things.

I'm bit confused if you clear my misunderstanding that would be much appreciated.

So If I buy a customer engagement plan for 25 users,I can still create 1 production and 2 sandbox environments,am I right?

And If I want to create additional environments I have to additional licences.

Also what is the role storage in above scenario?

I have to buy licences and storage separately?

Hi Rahul,

Please refer the articles below. It might help you clear your confusion. When it comes to storage for Dynamics 365, Microsoft is going to be splitting what’s currently known as “Database Storage” into three separate buckets – Database capacity, File capacity, and Log capacity.Users will get 10 GB of database capacity, 20 GB of file capacity, and 2 GB of log capacity by default and receive incremental capacity for each full access user added: 250 MB of database capacity, 2 GB of file, and no additional log capacity per full access user. Additional storage can be purchased at $40/GB/month for database, $2/GB/month for file and $10/GB/month of log capacity, on an as-needed basis. You are now able to have as many instances as you’d like – production or sandbox – as long as you have the capacity (at least 1 GB must be free to spin up a new instance). There is no need to purchase additional instances.
