Dear all,

It happen more and more those past days that our customer request a Proforma invoice for advance payement process on a validated quote.

For us we see a proforma invoice with nothing else that a Won Quote content but with ID started by PI prefix instead of Q for Quote.

Do you handle in your scenario proforma invoice in CRM andif yes at which level and how ?

Thanks for your idea

regards

serge

    Hi Serge,

As far as I am aware, the standard CRM sales functionality does not support a proforma invoice and would require some modifications to the workflow to do so. Depending on how much customisation is up to you as it depends on your requirement e.g. do you just need an ID, or do you actually want to have something to print?

What you could do is perhaps staying with the out of the box functionality but make a new field called 'Proforma' as a Boolean field on the Invoice entity. Then if somebody who has agreed to a Quote has requested a Proforma Invoice, you manually create an Order, and also manually create the Invoice. You wouldn't have to input all the product detail from scratch as for both the Order & the Invoice you could select 'Get Products', select the original Opportunity and it populated them for you. If they have been updated in the Quote stage these could then just get updated and select 'Proforma' to 'Yes'. Making sure on both the manually created Order and Invoice you have linked the related lookup i.e. the Account, correctly then it should be linked to your the customer's Account.

I know it sounds messy, but that is adding one custom field and a manual workaround to allow for proforma invoices whilst still keeping the OOB functionality, however if you wanted something automated or less of a workaround you'd need to have a think about your specific requirements.

    Hope that helps :)

    Dear all,

I finally manage to creat my Proforma invoice by using a boolean flag in the Invoice Form, then based on that boolean flag, I build a report which will handle a normal invoice or proforma based on my requirement. works nice and simple

    Thnaks for all of you

    regards
