Integration Manager errors: RPC Server is unavailable/Not privileged to open this form

Posted on by 2,010

Hi, A user receives these two IM errors during an integration.

"RPC Server is unavailable" and after clicking OK, the following error appears in the integration error log: "Not privileged to open this form"

The second message does not make sense and cannot be due to security since this user is a POWERUSER.

I tried following KB Article 943948 which instructs to quit GP & IM and verify it is ended using Task Manager. Then, restart and rerun the integration, but no luck.

No, when you go into Task Manager under Processes you will see DYNAMICS.EXE even though you are no longer in GP. They get left over and need to be stopped. You could see a bunch of them.

Tricky! Is there a naming convention to recognize for these orphans? In case this happens, I want to try identifying them to delete.

Make sure when you are in Task Manager that there are no orphaned copies of DYNAMICS.EXE running. If IM crashes, it crashes GP and then leaves an orphaned DYNAMICS.EXE running.

A reboot will insure that you have no left over copied of DYNAMICS.EXE running.
