Adding tax on Quote form

Hi

I am trying to apply tax on my quote. I am fine to add lumpsum tax inot totaltax field on quote form or tax on quote lines items/products. But i want tax to be calculated automatically based on a certain percentage defined for price list.

I tried various options line Business Rules and Custom Script. I am able to get calculations done very well calculated tax value in totaltax field is not getting saved since totaltax field is locked. i tried to unlock it but no success. 

Please advice what i am doing wrong. Does totaltax not editable since it is a rollup field from manualtaxamount field of quoteproduct entity?

I am using Dynamics 365 Sales.

    Hi,

    rollup fields are calculated automatically, so you cannot update them manually.

    You would need a modify the tax field on quote products, and then everything would be calculated on the Quote correctly. If you are not using quote products, you might create one (technical) quote product hide it from the users via customiations and perform calculations on that line.
