Deploy CRM 2011 Outlook Plugin using SCCM 2012

I'm attempting to to deploy the CRM 2011 Outlook plugin using SCCM but finding very little good help on how to do so.  Our users do not have admin access.

I've downloaded the client, extracted the files, run the "admin install" which didn't change the extraced files or create any new files in any way.

This is the guide I've been basing my procedure on- it doesn't work:  http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/vmontalbano/archive/2011/08/26/create-sccm-package-for-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2011.aspx.

any ideas?

Thanks,

DML

    Darius,

Have you checked the CRM for outlook implementation guide?

It contains steps regarding the automatic deployment of the client.

I think i've looked at this guide, but it gave pretty general steps as well.  For instance, I can't tell how to manage the tyoe of installation, like installing WITH offline mode capabilities, or installing WITHOUT offline capabilities, etc...

That is all on the script that you use to deploy it...it should be on the implementation guide.

This guide also doesn't have guidance on SCCM 2012, using it's "Applications" capabilities instead of using a package.  You can't publish packages to the application portal using a package.  Does anybody have a good guide on this?

    Hi,

I've been having the same problem with the above artical that it's not outputing any files but then i found this MSDN artical msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh699665.aspx and it shows how to output the files required.

    the missing switch was /Targetdir i.e. Setupclient /Q /A /targetdir \\share\mscrm_client_admin

    hope this Helps
