Unable to connect to Dynamics 365 CRM online organisation service using CrmSvcUtil tool

Hi Crms,

When I try to download proxy file using CrmSvcUtil.exe from CRM online instance I get following error:

Error   : Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: 'https://****.com/app/office365/exk4p1a92meFZDjSH0x7/sso/wsfed/mex'.

It's giving me a url which is not what I entered as the argument to CrmSvcUtil.exe command. And I'm running the tool from inside a private network.

Now, does anyone know why would I get re-directed to a different URL? is it security setup on the network or security setup on cloud level?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers.

To the benefit of others who encounter same issue. There was a firewall rule that redirecting this call out. Creating an exception to the rule fixed the issue.

    Cheers.

    Hi Goutam,

Thanks for replying, However I think you didn't understand my issue. I don't have issue with custom application being unable to connect to CRM. I get error when trying to run  CrmSvcUtil.exe to download

    proxy file from CRM.

    Hi,

This problem occur when client computer unable to send the HTTP request when connection has been closed or is unavailable. Make sure you have added below line before making connection.
