Mapping Quote to Quote Product does not work

(0) ShareShare

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am encountering a strange issue in my MSCRM 2013 on premise installation.

When entering a quote and adding a quotedetail (quote product) - with an existing product or a write in product - the mappings do not work. Neither the standard mappings like shipto_line1 or shipto_postalcode nor a mapping of a custom field fills any data in the quotedetail.

The behavior I expect is to enter a quoteproduct and the quoteproduct gets all the mapped fields in the quote_details 1:n relation from the quote.

What am I missing?

Regards,
Jan Nebendahl

    Hi Jan,

Maybe it is a simple question that you have done.

Have you checked the relationship mapping 1:N from Quote to Quote Product, ensure you have set the mapping (by default it has mapping) And you are creating quote product from the Quote subgrid?

    Thanks.

    Hi Aileen,

    thank you for your help.

I am using the standard quote to quote product mappings, plus one custom mapping. The quote product is created via the plus button in a subgrid. The product is chosen and the quote product record generated. But the data is not mapped from the quote to the quote product.

    Regards,

    Jan Nebendahl

    Hi Jan,

I have tried, and in my environment, all is okay.

What about your Opportunity to Quote, such as Price List, Potential Customer, the mapping work well or not?

    Hi Aileen,

the opportunity => quote mapping works as expected.

I tried tracing for errors, but there are none when the quoteproduct is created.

The Order => order product mapping doesn't work either.

The custom mapping was removed in the order, and it still didn't work.

    It's a mystery.

    Regards,

    Jan Nebendahl

    Hi Jan,

If you checked all of the mapping are correctly set and you created from + button in the Quote subgrid, then you ensure the Quote as parent record has all of the expected field values, (and make sure for the Shipping Line Address, you choose not to 'Will Call' in the quote product), that you are good to report as bug in CRM.

Because in my environment and my client environment, we didn't face the same problems.

    Thank you Jan.

    Hi Jan, Saez.

Do you use the Quote Product Line inline editable subgrid?

If yes, then it is the root cause.

Apparently, I learned something, a behavior, if you use Editable subgrid, you will not be able to make the mapping working.

To make it works, you need to replace your editable subgrid to the standard subgrid, so the mapping will work well.

This is not only for some fields, but for other fields that you have defined in the mapping in the relationship mapping.

I have submitted this issue for you to Microsoft.

I hope this can help you.

    Thank you.
