Dual Write mappings - error while stopping the dual write table mapping

Hello Experts,

I have configured Dual write sync between F&O and CRM for few tables, they run without any issues for sometime. Now I have a requirement to modify the columns mapping, so tried to stop and getting some weird error messages. Please see below:

Type=Microsoft.Dynamics.Integrator.Exceptions.DualWriteException, Msg=Dual write failure - Plugin Unregistration failed: Type=System.AggregateException, Msg=One or more errors occurred. (Error occured while retrieving FinOps entity details: Type=Microsoft.PowerApps.CoreFramework.Communication.Http.NonSuccessHttpResponseException, StatusCode=Forbidden, Msg=Server returned non-success HTTP response)

I searched all over but not getting any positive information on the same. Let me know if there is anything I am missing here.

Thanks in advance.

Preetam

    Hello,

Are you logged in with the account who deployed the environment?

In LCS, under the Power Platform Integration section, when you have "Successfully completed" ?  If you click on Enable Dual-write Connection, what message does it display?

Did you ever manage to resolve this issue please? I have the same problem on a Tier 1 environment and Microsoft have not been able to resolve after 6 weeks.

    Hello Preetam,

Thank you for sharing the details of your issue.

    The error message:

"Dual write failure - Plugin Unregistration failed... StatusCode=Forbidden"

suggests that the system is encountering a permission or access issue when attempting to unregister the plugin or retrieve entity metadata from Finance and Operations (F&O) during the Dual Write stop operation.

    Recommended Steps to Resolve:

    1. Verify User Permissions
Ensure that the user account initiating the stop operation has:

      • System Administrator role in both Dataverse (CRM) and F&O.
      • Sufficient privileges to unregister plugins and access entity metadata.
    2. Check Application User and Azure AD App Registration

      • Confirm that the Azure AD application used for Dual Write has not expired or lost permissions.
      • Validate that the application user in Dataverse is active and has the correct security roles assigned.
    3. Review Integration Key and Environment Link

      • Go to Dual Write > Linked Environments and ensure the connection is healthy.
      • Re-authenticate or re-link the environments if needed.
    4. Clear Plugin Cache or Retry from Admin Center

      • Sometimes, plugin unregistration fails due to stale metadata or sync issues.
      • Try stopping the mapping from the Power Platform Admin Center or after restarting the Dual Write runtime.
    5. Check for Customizations or Locked Entities

      • If the entity involved has been customized or locked by another process, it may block plugin operations.
      • Review recent changes to the entity or mapping configuration.
    6. Use Trace Logs or Monitor Tool

      • Enable Dual Write trace logs or use the Monitoring tool to capture more detailed error context.

If the issue persists, consider opening a support ticket with Microsoft, referencing the full error stack and confirming that all integration components are up to date.

Please verify if this response was helpful.
    Best regards.
