Lead Source Issue in CRM 3.0

Hi,

We have CRM 3.0.5300.0 version for our company. We are facing with an issue where we are not able to see any Lead Source in the Opportunities section. Infact, the dropdown for Lead Source is always empty in Opportunities page although the Lead Source is visible in Leads section.

     Let me get the question a bit clear . What you mean is that when you select the lead source from the Lead page and once a lead is been converted to a Opportunity the respective lead source wont get carried forward to the Opportunities lead source text box.

     

    If this is the problem a entity relationship has  done in the Lead to Opportunity conversion.

    From what I understand is that you want the value in the Lead Source in the leads page to be carreid forward to the Opportunities . For this you can just create a text field in the opportunities and then create an entity relationship . Then once a lead is converted to a opportunity the value will automatically be carried forward

    you can create a new text field in the opportunities and then goto the 1:N relation ships on the attributes and then do a map . I can give you a more realtime help if you can add me on msn or gmail (calagari@hotmail.com) (sahanandajanthi@gmail.com)

    If I understand the issue correctly you don't have a field in oppurtunities area called lead source. You want the lead source information from Leads be carried over to  the oppurtunity.

    What you can do is create an attribute called "lead source" in oppurtunity entity with the same values as the lead source attribute in the lead entity.

    Then map the lead source attribute of the lead entity with the now created lead source attribute in the oppurtunity entity so that when converting lead to opppurtunity the value gets carried over.
