Dynamics 365 Hierarchical relationships

Hi Experts,

Hierarchical relationships are self-referential one-to-many relationships.

My question here is, can we define hierarchy relationship for 2 entities, say we have XYZ Account in our system, for this account we have multiple contacts say A,B,C,D,E,etc. so can we define hierarchy of this contacts and show it on Account record level, any customized way if possible.

Regards,

Rahul

    Hi,

The hierarchy is only working for a self referential relationship as you mentioned.

If you want to accomplish the hierarchy between account and contacts, you will have to go for a full customized html page which could be embedded in your crm.

    Hi Rahul,

You can't achieve it by default settings, so you have to do some customization. Please refer these links -

    www.powerobjects.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-2015-custom-hierarchies

    www.preact.co.uk/.../account-contact-hierarchies-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2015

These will help you to setup Hierarchical relationships.

Please mark as verified if helps.

    Thanks,

    Sandeep

    Hi Rahul ,

Your understanding is correct,  hierarchical view can be implemented for self referential which can be  display only for particular record . There is no OOB functionality to display  the hierarchy of related data .

Seems you need o create custom html UI for that , there is no other options.

The link would be something like :

    org.crm4.dynamics.com/.../hierarchy.aspx;oId=%7bGUIDOFRECORD%7d&pagemode=iframe
