365 BC Audit Report Question

ReportReport

Community - First of all I apologize as this is my first time here and posting.  We are in the process of implementing 365 BC coming from GP.  A concern came up this week with the team.  We need to have a report that would show us all register numbers for a specific period of time and the total debits and credits for each register number.  For whatever reason this has thrown our implementation partner for a loop.  Has anyone created something similar to this maybe for audit purposes or any other purposes?

Thanks,

Kyle

    365 BC Audit Report Question
    Hi Kyle, welcome!

Yes, this is doable in Business Central — what you’re describing is essentially an audit report of General Ledger Register numbers with debit and credit totals. BC stores this in the G/L Register table, which links to the G/L Entry table.

    1. Out-of-the-box: Use Navigate (Find Entries) or General Ledger Registers page to see register details; however, this is more drill-down than summary.

    2. Account Schedules / Analysis Views: These focus on accounts, not registers, so they won’t group by register no.

    3. Custom Report (recommended): Very simple — pull from G/L Register table, join to G/L Entry, and group by Register No.. Then sum debit and credit amounts by period. This is a quick development task in AL or via a custom query.

    4. Power BI: Connect to the BC web services (G/L Register & G/L Entry) and create a report with Register No. + debit/credit totals filtered by posting date.

    Thanks

    Nimsara

    365 BC Audit Report Question
Hi, If the register numbers you mentioned are GL registers, then using Valentin's method should be fine.

But if this is a customized function, you may need to customize other reports to achieve it.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.

You can search and run the G/L Register report that contains that information. When you run the report you can use a date filter if needed.
