Investment project in Asset management module D365

Hi Experts,

I have a question on the need of investment project in asset management module.

Explanation: Fixed asset field in investment project will get filled only on eliminating the project (i.e., only on pushing CWIP to fixed asset master). And this investment project will not be used for any purpose after elimination. So wanted to understand the reason behind documentation using investment project in below link

Thanks,
Pranav

    Hi,
Investment projects help capitalize the costs associated with the acquisition, construction or development of long-term assets. Use investment projects to track and accumulate costs that will eventually be capitalized as fixed assets once the project is completed and Capitalized Work in Process (CWIP) is transferred to fixed asset master data. Investment projects allow costs to accrue over time. This helps analyze and allocate costs for a specific project or initiative.
This blog demonstrates the working principle and scenarios of investment projects, you can view it for reference:

    Best Regards,
