Are there known issues BC not updating ledger entries from Transfer Orders?

There has been some cases lately, when in customers transfer orders have been completed, both shipment and receipt executed and visible as posts in Posted Documents, but when we examine Item Ledger Entries we don't see both entries, one for shipment and one for receipt, but only the first entry for shipment.
 
Have there been any known issues or bugs related to such a behavior or are there any hints for further investigation you might supply?

    Hi,
     
    Can you please check if there are any Posted Transfer Receipt created for these transfer orders?
    If Yes, Click on Find Entries action in the Action ribbon and check if any Item Ledger entry and Value entry is posted or not.
     
    This will help you find cause. Let me know the result so we can identify this issue.

    These are transfer orders from warehouse to warehouse, no vendor is related. Is there any reason the system would create Purchase receipts in this case?

    If you are using transfer orders then you need to look at the settings for each warehouse location. Under the warehouse fast tab you can see what activities are required. 
     
    Transfer orders are only used for moving between your locations setup in BC. They won't involve vendors or customers. If a location requirements shipments then you will see a warehouse shipment for that transfer order. If the receiving location needs a warehouse receipt then you'll see a warehouse receipt.

    If none of those settings are selected you still need to post a shipment and receipt but they will show as posted transfers:

    Understood. But maybe i didn't explain the issue well enough. Both posted transfer shipments and posted transfer receipts have been created. But the equivalent item ledger entries are not there.

    Sorry, I mean Posted Teansfer Receipt. Can you check Find entries function on that page ? See if you can find Item ledger entries.

    This is a bit strange. Is it not possible to find Item Ledger Entries by passing through the following methods?
     
    PS: I haven't seen this issue in the latest Known Issues.

    This seems does not seems to be a standard issue, recommendation would be to check the custom extension or any addon app that is installed on the customers system.

    Hello ,
    If you’re seeing Posted Transfer Shipment + Posted Transfer Receipt, but only “one” item ledger entry, 9 times out of 10 it’s not missing—it’s just not where you’re looking / filtered out because transfer posting can write entries to In-Transit (or even a blank location in certain direct-transfer setups), and the exact ledger entry pattern changes a lot depending on whether the transfer is Direct Transfer and what Inventory Setup → Direct Transfer Posting is set to (Microsoft even lists the expected entry counts per setup). So the next checks are: confirm the order’s Direct Transfer flag + company Direct Transfer Posting setting, and in Item Ledger Entries search by Document No. (and include In-Transit Code / Location Code, don’t filter only From/To locations). If after removing filters the receipt-side positive transfer entry truly isn’t there, then you’re into either customization interfering with posting or a rare data integrity issue—but rule out the setup/filter/in-transit pattern first.

    Thank you for your reply, i am not sure this is a filter issue in the sense that previous transfers a few days ago worked fine. In the example below, you can see a few days ago a transfer doing all four entries very nicely, as marked by the green square, the column of the warehouse in the middle of it, first transferring from the from warehouse to in-transit and then from in-transit to to-warehouse. But a few days later only the transfer to in-transit warehouse is visible. I also don't think the company setup has changed in the three working days between the two transactions. But i will take a look at the direct posting flag. Although as i said, the posted receipts are there as documents, the item ledger entries aren't.
