Track emails (using "set regarding") not showing up as activity

I'm using CRM Online (upgraded to Spring'14).

I always track incoming email enquiries (from outside my organization) within a corresponding lead (using "set regarding).  It will show up as an activity in the activity list.

But with 2013, I can still do a "set regarding". However the email doesn't show up as an activity anymore.  I don't see it even in All Activities.

Are there any settings I'm missing?

Thanks

Are you sure that the configuration with your CRM instance is correct? Could you navigate to:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM -> Settings -> Administration -> System Settings -> Email Tab

    Could you then check:

You are processing emails via Microsoft Dynamics CRM email router

Incoming Email: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

Appointments, Contacts, and Tasks: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

Outgoing Email: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

Then check smart searching is enabled.

    Hello Nicole ,

Please go the System settings :

Microsoft Dynamics CRM -> Settings -> Administration -> System Settings -> Email Tab

Check the Box for : Track the emails between users as two different Activities .

Also click the Gear icon on the Right hand corner beside the Login name

    and Under Options --> Email

Track : Emails in response to CRM emails or All email messages

These settings should allow you to see the Emails under Activities for respective contacts or accounts

    Thanks and regards

    HI FinneyA

    My settings are:

    Configure Email Processing: Server-Side Synchronization

    Server Profile: Microsoft Exchange Online

Incoming Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email router

Outgoing Email: Server-Side Synchronization or Email routher

appointments, contacts and tasks: Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

    Smart Matching is already selected.

I will change to your suggested settings and give it a try.  I remember changing the type of email processing, because my Outlook and CRM domains are different, and I was afraid it wouldn't process properly.

Let me test and I'll post here again.

    Thanks!!

    Hi Prashant

Thanks for the suggestions.  Let me check and see.  Will that apply for Leads as well?

    Hi FinneyA and Prashant

It was definitely the email configuration in my CRM instance. I've set that accordingly and now it works!

    Thanks again!
