Could the Sales Markdown info can be configured by the customer in GP2013?

Hi All,

Could we configure the markdown info on the "Sales Markdown Entry" window be configured by the user in GP2013? For example, the "Markdown Type", the calculate function. Or it could be changed only by developer and set it in code?

You can achieve the requirement in both way( 1. User can set markdown type to set markdown, 2. Developer also do the same by coding).

The answer for your question is available with your screen shot of this post(Choose Percentage as Markdown Type and enter the percentage value then click OK).

Sorry, i think maybe i didn't describe my questions clearly. What i really want to know is that whether the user can add/delete a different markdown type, define the calculation formula, or set the default discount percentage. Could it be possible?

In your previous post, Mr. Frank and I already mentioned that you can not configure this field, it is either an amount or percentage. Although, you should take into consideration that whatever your calculation is to get the mark down amount, you will be able to deploy a simple VBA code (as an option) to get this done.

Please pay attention to the following two screenshots:

The two screenshots are all gotten from GP2013. The first one got from GP2013 SP2 and the second one from GP 2013 RTM. My question is that whether the user can configure something to define formula to calculate the markdown amount.

Users can't do this. But, you can create a customization to define markdown amount based on your calculation.

You can have such an option with the Extended Pricing, where you have apply a promotion to your items or set multiple price sheets each represents specific percent over the original price.

Using the basic pricing this is unfortunately not possible using the normal product functionality, you need to have this customized.
