automatically convert emails to leads or opportunities

Hi Community,

I would like to automatically convert all incoming emails from a specific mailbox into leads or opportunities.

This can be done for cases via routing rules for queues in service management, but the service management area does not allow to do the same for leads or opportunities. I was thinking to create a lead record once a case is created via automatic record creation and update rules, but i was wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Thanks, Debbie

Thought I'd just add that Parserr does exactly this.

You can choose to extract the exact content you need from the email using a series of rules. For instance, a rule to get "Last Name":

Then using Microsoft Flow, we allow you to push the outputs to these rules to Dynamics CRM. Pretty much setup in less than 10 minutes.

    Hi Debbie,

As suggested by Neil, Automatic Record Creation ( Settings -> Service Management - > Automatic Record Creation and Update Rules) does allow you to create several entities other than cases. I have just created a rule to create a lead if the email contains keyword 'interested' or 'queries' on the subject.

On receiving the email the lead was created automatically as defined in the rules. System job for the same:

    Hope it will be helpful.

    Hi Debbie

It is quite common to create a case from an email. But it is just as likely that you might want to create a lead.

A couple of options spring to mind,

    1. You could create a workflow that when an email is created will create a lead. (or any entity!)

    2. Alternatively, have you looked at Record creation rules? They are located in settings under service management. But don't let that fool you they aren't limited to just creating cases. You could have a record creation rule that whenever an email is received on a given queue would create a lead. You could, for example, have an email address something like info@mycompany.com. Then have that associated with a queue in CRM.

This link might give you some pointers,

Hope this helps give you some ideas.
