Error: Given linked attribute is alreadly linked to other attribute

I am trying to remove a managed solution, but the operation fails with the message "Given linked attribute is alreadly linked to other attribute" (complete with spelling mistake - it's even included in the SDK documentation with the bad spelling).

I'm struggling to understand what this actually means? Does anyone know? Has anyone else seen this before?

Excerpt from the error log:

<ErrorCode>-2147159810</ErrorCode>

<ErrorDetails xmlns:d2p1="schemas.datacontract.org/.../System.Collections.Generic" />
<Message>Given linked attribute is alreadly linked to other attribute.</Message>

    Hi,

    in the organization where you try to remove the solutions, maybe you create a reletion beetween the attribute from an entity in the manage solution with the other one on the organizatzion.

    You cannot remove this solution else the attribute wiil be remove also. You need to understand what is the attribute and what is the entity

    Thanks

    Thanks. I was able to locate a relationship (entity map) between to an entity that was not part of the solution.
