Catch weight issue in BOM line

Dear Community,

Hi,

I am using D365 On-prem.

As per my textile business process, Catch weight functionality is perfectly working and producing desired results. This catch weight BOM is a raw material of another product and i have to use it in BOM lines. As and when i select it in BOM line, system prompts an error that "Catch weight item cannot be used in BOM line".

Has someone experienced this error or is there any way to use Catch weight item in BOM line? Please guide. It would be great support if i receive prompt response.

Thanks in advance,

Muhammad Fahad.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Muhammad,

As I understood previously, support for catch weight items in a BOM is not possible. You can actually use catch weight items in formulas.

Whether BOM line or Formula line, it does not allow. I wrote BOM line but actually i tested it with Formula line and system prompts error.

Is this a bug or functionality limitation?

    Hi Muhammad

CW Items are definitely supported on Formula lines (and definitely not supported on BOM Lines). Before you log it as a bug, perhaps you would test it on a Formula of a Formula item or Planning item one more time!
