Master Planning Orders - Firming Master Planned Orders

Hello,

I would love to reach out and hear the best process flow for Production Planners on tracking the firmed Planned Order Process.

For example a Production Planner firm 10 MSPO Orders (reference Production).

What is best practice or most efficient for them to immediately track the orders they firmed up.

One way I see is:

Master Planning > Master Planning > Planned Orders

View > View > Firming History

You can also do this in the respective areas of Planned Production, Purchase, and Transfer Orders not just through Master Planning module.

Would love to hear best practice and efficient work flows for Production Planning- Firmed Orders tracking.

Thank you!

It looks like your understanding of the process is spot on in viewing the Firming history, which can drill into the actual production, purchase, and transfer order. The only thing I can add is to be on the lookout for the new Planning Optimization function coming next year that can allow for automatic firming of planned orders which will provide even increased efficiency and speed.

    Hi King710,

As OOB functionality, You can track a planned order that was firmed from Firming history under Planned orders form > View > Firming history as you mentioned above.

Most of the client use the same navigation to view firmed history.

As per as better master planning is concern, Microsoft released "Planning Optimzation" feature this month on Oct/1.
