I'm not quite sure what you mean or what you are trying to do

how would you specify what contacts to return for each account, your request doesn't really make sense.  What criteria would you use to select the two contacts.

You could go through the contacts for the accounts and set a field so they are returned

You could select contacts which are specified as the primary contact for each account

The issue you have as mentioned by Ben is that how do you define which 2 contacts should be selected.

I simple counter plugin could give each contact a numerical value based on a condition you define, then the view you create would just need to contain a criteria  where contact flag = 1 or 2. This would show the a maximum of 2 contacts for each account based on the definition you supplied.

You could allow manual over-ruling of this but obviously extends the complexity.

RE: Advanced find: not more than two contacts per account

Hey guys, thank you for your answers. I am Katrin's colleague and I am facing following issue:

We have a database of about 80.000 contacts in CRM. In some accounts we have about 20 contacts of course.

I send out Marketing material to exactely 4.000 contacts a week. I select those contacts with an advanced find based on hierarchy and function.  My aim is to address as much companies as I can and maximum 2 contacts per account.

I have preferences for those contacts. An example:

    Hierarcharchy Level: 1

However, I also search for level 2 and 3 in case we do not have a level 1-contact in the account

    Function: 'Development'
However, I also search for function 'Industrial Engingeering' and 'General Management' in case we do not have  'Development' contacts at all in some accounts.

Now, the advanced find delivers sometimes about 18 contacts these criteria fit to for one account. But I only want 2 contacts per account. I would be very happy if I could specify in the advanced find something like: "If there are more than 2 contacts in 1 account to which these criteria fit to, then please deliver only 2 contacts  preferably hierarchy level 1 and function 'development'. Something like a "If-then-else-rule" in Excel.

So do you have an idea how I could make this work?

    Thank you, Marie
