Adding the Customer PO to the Posted Sales Shipment

ReportReport

Hi:

In Business Central, the Posted Sales Shipment asks as the Packing Slip in the supply chain environment.

Isn't it possible to modify this report to contain the Customer PO field?

Thanks!

John

Yes, it's possible to modify the Posted Sales Shipment report to include the Customer PO field. The Customer PO (usually stored in the Sales Header > "Your Reference" field) can be added through a simple AL customization by extending the report dataset and layout.

You can ask your Business Central partner or developer to customize the report layout to include this field where needed.

    Hi John,

"If you need to capture the customer PO on both the Sales Order and the Posted Sales Shipment, the 'External Document No.' field is a great place to store it. It flows through the sales process and is visible on related documents.

    Thanks
    Ramesh

This requires some simple customization, and hopefully the information below can give you some hints.

    Hello,

Yes, is possible. The field that acts as sales order number is the external document no:

It can also be displayed in Posted Sales Shipment

    Information:

On sales documents and journals, you can specify a document number that refers to the customer's numbering system. Use this field to record the number that the customer assigned to the order, invoice, or credit memo. You can then use the number later if, for some reason, you need to search for the posted entry using this number.
