I have my first installation of CRM2015 coming up and I'm wondering with the Server side integration for Exchange do I need to have the email router installed and running if the client wants to use Queues?

If you use server-side-sync you don't need the email router. The Synchronisation will be done by the Background tasks

One question, how is the "server side" sync set-up with exchange? Is it similar to how SharePoint is done "server side" ?

    Hello,

Walkthrough the following blog. It explains deeply:

    Also refer:

    Hope this helps.
