Hi All,

I'm trying to configure the auto number for an entity but it's not working properly

I downloaded the counter solution but don't know how to configure it as needed :

I have an entity for the contract and each contract has a multiple payment certificates so I need the auto numbering start from one for each contract but after configuration it's keep counting of the payment certificate entity level not for each contract.

Any Help?

Hi

Please check your configuration and verify that you have entered the right entity name

Hi Mena,

While creating the counter record, enter the schema names of Entity and field.

Check the entity and field name fields has valid schema names

Hi Mena,

Most (if not all) of the auto numbering solutions will be providing counters per entity. You seem to be looking for counter per record(separate certificates numbering per contract), and I don't really know if anything like that is available - may need a custom plugin for that(or, possibly, a workflow at least)

Actually That was working so well with this solution ( AdvancedCRMAutoNumber )

But this solution is not working any more on crm 2016

Please check, if there is any upgrade available for this.

You can find out any other AutoNumber solution available and use that one.

Or you would have to create your own solution similar to that (AutoNumber Entity, with EntityName, FieldName, Prefix, StartNumber, Suffix fields) and a plugin.

Hi Mena,

We have an addon auto counter for Dynamics 365 CRM. I hope it will help you get through these issues. Auto-Counter allows the user to configure counter for default as well as custom entities. Here, you can put any prefix, suffix, counter zero paddings and specified date formats with Auto numbering.

You can set the initial value of the counter and its incremental value as well. At any point in time, it can be activated or deactivated. You can also provide Security Role as per the user access in Dynamics CRM, it can be Read Only or Admin Access.
