Buy 1 product get a different product free

Hi

Is it possible to have a discount that involves multiple different products? Such as buy 1 product get a different product free? I've looked at Database > Discounts but can only set up 2 for 1 style offers.


If it isn't possible, are there any add-ins available that can provide this functionality? I've have a search but can't find anything.

Surely someone else wants to do this?

    check into tag along items.  when you ring up the first item.  That item then triggers the tag along item to be added to the transaction.

    If needed you can setup a parent child relationship from the free item to same item that is chargeable,  This would allow realtime inventory information.

    Hi Ed, would the tag along item have to have a price of 0.00 in order to be free? I'm not at my desk at the moment so can't test. The "free" item is also sold separately at full price you see. Thanks

    Yes the tag along item would have to be zero priced.  

    But you can setup a 1 to 1 parent child relationship with your Priced version of the item and make the tag along the child.  Then everytime you complete a sale with that item on the sale, it will decrease the inventory from the priced item.  

    Or more simply just reserve a few of the priced items for the give aways, and when you run out, your out.
