Importing Data - BC - Chart of Accounts

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well.

I'm using the data migration tool to import GL accounts into BC. It imports the GL codes required, but doesn't seem to import the account categories correctly.

I am using the standard data template you can download from BC as below:

When the data has finished importing, the account category is left blank, even though I have specified the category to be used.

Can anyone suggest where I might be going wrong?

Regards,

Matt

    Good Day All,

When you setup your G/L Account Categories you are building the over Entry number structure. You can see this when opening the Page G/L Account Categories. See my screen shot below. I highlighted the 4 row, or Entry No. 4. Given Entry 4 rolls up to Parent Row 2, No. 2, Current Assets. The Entry No. fields are not visible on the Page but you can either run a Configuration Package Export to see the field or while highlighting a row, press CTRL-ALT-F1.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you,

    Steve

Where do I see what the Account Subcategory Entry No. is please? I can't see any number on the GL Account Category list.

Hi Teddy, thanks for the reply. I managed to get this working by adding the category code, rather than the text value. You can hover over the menu title (tooltip) to see the numeric values that are assigned to each category.

Did you also import Account Subcategory Entry No. ?

If Account Subcategory is filled in, it will overwrite the account category based on the sub category - account category.
