    Hi

Is this a trial environment or paid one? is this SaaS or On-prem? Which license you have? Do you have Extension Management permission for your user? How about super user?

I believe in SaaS trial you cannot do development. Also, Team license cannot do development as well. for on-prem you need to make sure you have a license forobjects you are using and you are in your range. For SaaS no such a license required but you need to be in range   docs.microsoft.com/.../devenv-object-ranges

I think in BC 20 they added new set of permission for extension. You will see the new one and obsolete one. Do you have both?

I was not including Obsolete permission sets to the user.

I tried with including both and worked for me.

    Thanks for suggestions

Hi, Environments created in Trial Tenant are only valid for 30 days. You can extend it once, but if it's been more than 30 days, you won't be able to install the extension untill you extend the trial period.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.

although this is quite an old issue I would like to add an unexpected resolution that worked for me.

the solution is to use the .flf  file in stead of the .bclicense file.

Cost me some time to exclude all other suggestions. It is a license related issue so I tried the .flf file

BC Version 19.1 ? Please try this if everything else fails.

    Hi,

As you have mentioned that this is a Trial SAAS version and you have IWs license assigned, once the trial period gets over you cannot publish/deploy anything on that environment.

    Simple solutions:

    1. Delete all non-evaluation companies from all your Business Central environments, for that tenant.pastedimage1645808242751v2.png
      or

    2. Purchase a Business Central license to make the tenant compliant.

    For more clarifications -

    Thanks.

    Hi

The error is caused by insufficient license/permissions. Use a System Administrator user with a developer license to the sandbox to get IndirectRead permission and successfully publish your extension.

    Thanks

    HI,

In BC v20+, some system objects (like Published Application) moved under obsolete permission sets. Without adding those, even SUPER can hit that error.

Including the obsolete permission sets is the right fix until Microsoft fully transitions them out.

    Thanks
