Is the storage limiation (80GB) only for the production instance valid or for both instance (Prod + Sandbox)?
I mean max 80GB for Prod + max 80GB for the sandbox; Total max. 160GB for Prod and Sandbox.

Yes. it should be per database (instance). This is not hard limit, once you reach the limit MS will contact you to discuss the option to reducing the size .

The limit is not a hard limit. The fee is currently $40/GB once you go past 80GB. The 80 GB is for the database only and does not include file storage, which has its own limitation, which I can't remember off the top of my head.

How does Microsoft handle database sizes?

For Business Central online, there is a limit to how much data we allow each tenant to store in an environment (database). If a tenant exceeds this limit, we contact the partner and work with them to reduce the size of the data.

The limit for the size of each environment's data in Business Central is currently set to 80 GB.

The 80GB is not really a limit. It is basically saying that once you reached 80GB, you need to spend extra money per month to pay for the storage. Microsoft hasn't finalized the pricing yet.

Yes, they have finalized pricing. I just said what it was earlier in this thread. My company was in Redmond last month and we received this information first hand.

It was announced recently on Directions4Partners.com for 40€/GB/month, but it has not yet to be made available publicly. They still need to finalize how they are going to count the storage and how to make it easier for customers to see which tables take up the space in the database, such as log. The pricing does align with the rest of Dynamics portfolio.

For Business Central online that offer is called Dynamics 365 Business Central Database Capacity

and it will be $40USD per month according to the May pricing.

According to price list it is USD40/GB/month. My NAV client is having 180GB and would like to move to Business Central On Cloud.

In view of the 100GB (180 - 80GB), it would mean (100GB x $40) = US$4000 per month for additional capacity. US$48,000 a year.

Will Microsoft consider offering a better price? The above price would just discouraging them to drop the idea of Business Central cloud.
