Calculated Field to sum 12 fields - Help!

Hello everyone.  I'm trying to create a simple calculated field to show total 2017 revenue (the sum of 12 fields Jan through Dec).  I created the calculated field by typing field1 + field2 + field3..... + field 12 and the resulting value of the calculated field is null.

When I did a test of summing 2 fields everything works ok.  When I include all 12 the calculated field results are blank.

Can anyone help?  Each of the fields is a basic currency field so I'm not trying to add 12 calculated fields.

    Hello

What are the types of fields you are calculating ? if they are also calculated fields or rolup fields, CRM has a limit of 5 for those.

For more information about the limitations of calculated fields see here:

Hi OQL - they are regular currency input fields (simple currency precision 0)

    Hi

If any of the field, you are using within the calculation is blank, then you will not get a result. The result would be blank in this case.

So you have to populate the field with 0, if it is blank.

You can use Business Rule to do this as below:

    1. Condition: if the field Does not contain data
    2. Action: set Field value to 0

You can also use JavaScript to set the value to 0 when it is blank.

Gopalan - that is exactly what the problem was.  I did as you suggest and created a business rule (also made sure the business rule was on the entity not just the forms) and worked like a charm.  Thank you!
