Item allocation - quantity alert icon

Periodically (in other words, I can't duplicate) -- when we change the quantity of a line item on an order or we add a line item to an order the quantity alert icon will appear next to the quantity for the line.

The items are in stock and available, so I don't understand why this occurs.  If the line item in question is the ONLY line item on the order, the pick ticket won't print, so the order does not move forward.  If there are other line items on the order, the entire order will print on the pick and the alert icon is typically noticed at this point.

 Anyone have any experience with this?

We're on GP9 and we use multibins.

    It shoulds like an allocation issue to me...  Do you automatically allocate line items when each are entered, or do you allocate when the document is saved (all line items at once)? Next time that happens try going to, with the Sales Transaction open, Extras->Options->Allocate or Fulfill.  Check the Allocate button and click the OK button. 

    If the alert icon goes away after that, then you have an allocation issue.

    Thanks for the feedback - after testing several scenarios - we realized that when items that were originally backordered, but were received BEFORE the order was transferred to a backorder, and the line item item changed to move the quantity from QTY to BO, to QTY to Invoice, the Allocation icon appeared. 

    We are now using the options, allocate at the time of the line item change.

    No problem...glad that helped!  We had that same issue and resolved it the same way.

    Thanks Ron! We recently went live with GP 10. I bill out many monthly invoices with multiple lines that I have to rebuild each month. I've been trying to copy an existing sales invoice over to a new blank invoice and kept getting the error message "Line quantity is not properly fulfilled" when I tried to post. Your answer took care of the problem I am VERY happy to say.. :)  So, Thanks!
