I have been getting multiple crashes when I am in the process of making a customer order. I type in the first couple characters of a part number and then type in a description in the sub search. When I do this however, about half the time GP will completely crash and I have to log back in. Also the order that I started is lost and just tells me it has been posted. Just recently however it has also kept the parts I have in inventory allocated to that order that is now no existent.
This happens to me regularly that GP crashes and so much so that if I would like to at any given time know how I can always crash it. Is this a GP problem or is this maybe the servers resources I have it running on?

Hi Tim,
This sounds familiar to me... I've had users reporting this in a past version of GP (I believe it was 10 or 2010) every time they were using an Inventory Lookuup query in a specific form.. couldn't remember which one it was..
In the end I recall it was a strange character used in one of the Inventory Items that was causing this.. took quite some search to find it.. I'd have to dig into old e-mails and/or notes to find the details, but if you search the net about 'invalid characters SQL', you should come up with some scripts that would allow you to spot them in your Company DB.
This sounds like you are using a 3rd party add on in your search (my guess is smartfill). I'd reach out to the vendor directly for help.

Kirk
