Hello Everyone,

I am working on MS CRM 2015 on premise.

Scenario : I have opportunity form with order sub grid on that form. Opportunity having custom field "Introduction Company" on BPF as step. Field "Introduction Company" is having Data Type two options ( 0=mark complete 1=completed).

I want to hide Add order button (+ sign) available on order sub grid when "Introduction Company" field has value "mark complete" and want show same button when value change to "completed".

For this purpose i customized Add new button on order sub grid through ribbon workbench and used two Enable Rule as below.

1. For hiding Add order button

2654.Capture.PNG

2. For showing Add order button

Yes.PNG

Issue :: Add Order Button hide permanently and not show even changing value to "completed" and saving form.

Kindly tell me am i doing correct or not and tell me solution for same.

Thanks in Advance.

RE: Enable Rule to Show/hide Ribbon button on two option field value change

Hi Javed, thank you for reaching out.

I am taking a quick guess here but believe this has something to do with the field being on the BPF. Fields on the BPF cannot have script (the workbench uses scripting) activated on events.

Try adding that field somewhere else on the form. You can make it not visible by default. Then see if the workbench action you created works.

Let us know if this helps. Have a great day!

    Hi javed ,

In enable rule you need to check new_introducationcompany field value which is present on form not in BPF.If field in BPF does not work as expected then add onchange on field available in BPF and make changes to the form field.Check this form field value in enable rule.

    Hi Javed,

First, the field has to be on the form.

Secondly, you have to use the parent entity which refers to the field in the parent entity. I doubt that this is possible but not the way you are trying because by that way you can only refer to fields on the order entity not opportunity entity.

    Hi All,

    Thanks for reply.

I tried your solution and dragged "Introduction Company" field on opportunity form. But still facing same issue.

For more information, we already done same functionality with other field having data type option set and three values as yes, no and null. Which work fine with same technique and having three enable rules. Here i am using two option set and two enable rules but it does not work.

Kindly provide me any further help.

    Have nice day!

I know this is an old thread, but this was causing me issues as well and there doesn't seem to be any specific examples out there. To create a ValueRule in Ribbon Editor for a Two Option Set you need to use the Value = 'true' or 'false' rather than '0' or '1'

Worked for Me, Ribbon Workbench did not recognize "Yes/No" or "1/0" but "true/false" worked. Thanks for the clarification
