Hi Community,

I would like to find out. generally, if you were to teach an accountant how to use Navision, what are the modules or list of things you will teach them?

Below I have some examples:

1. How to access Chart of Accounts.

2. How to access and use Bank Reconciliation

3. How to use Payment journals.

...

Please advise. Thank you!

I have the same question (0)

    Josh,

I always teach to people in the Finance and Accounting department all Financial Management functionality. This includes:

    Posting Groups

    Dimensions

    Chart of Accounts

    No. Series

    General and Recurring Journals

Account Schedules and Analysis by Dimensions

    Currencies

Accounting Period and Close Income Statement

    Bank Accounts and Bank Reconciliation

    Deposits and Cash Receipt Journals

    Check Payment and EFT Payment

    Void Check

    Customer and Vendor Card

Sales and Purchase  Documents (to show how they post and how to correct Credit Memo)

Reports - run thru the many available to show what each can do

For NAV, I also give them some manuals and have them play and learn on their own after teaching/training them. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Josh,

During the Payment Journal process of cutting Checks, the User, after printing checks, has the option to Void Checks in case of error or it the physical check is not good. On the Bank Account, Check Ledger Entries, you can highlight a Check Payment and Void the check. This will void the check and reinstate the Vendor payable. Payables attachment shows how to Void check when unposted. Cash Management will explain how to void a check after posting.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve
