How to pop up a line of text when we move the mouse over a field on dynamics crm 2016 online

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

This is one field that our users often get confused, and don't know what it means, so how can we add a line of text  as an explanation when the users move their mouse over this field?

Is this something a crm admin can do or do we need coding for it?

Thanks a lot.

    Hi Qing,

    +1 for Nadeeja's answer.

From CRM 2013 onwards,  we can specify the Description of the field which is also displayed as a tooltip when users hover over a field label on a form. Refer the link below.

    Hi Qing,

The enter the text you would like to show to the user in the description property of the field.

Go to Settings > Custimizations > Customize the System (Ideally you should use solutions)

Expand the Entity and click Fields.  Double click to open the field.  Populate the description property.  Save and Publish.
