Connection of multiple Contacts on Opportunity form

Hello,

I've got a small challenge to do. I need to configure a connection table on our opportunity form, that connects one to (in the best case) one or multiple other contacts and has a specific user role assigned. If possible, the best scenario would be, that we are able to connect these users within the opportunity form, but if not possible we could also think about a solution with another table. Maybe someone of you already has experience about that. I couldn't find anything related to my topic and would be very grateful for some help.

Thank you very much!

You can use party list data type for this, party list allows multiple contacts/accounts in a single field.

Below is Microsoft documentation on this data type:

party list fields cannot be created

you can create a new N:N relationship between opportunity and contact and put a subgrid of this relationship inside the opportunity form (so users can add/remove contacts in there) this will be enough for your requirement?

    Hi,

This requirement is already available out of box as Connections i.e. you can connect an opportunity to other records as well. You may need to define you connection roles and customize the form to display it in the main form. By default, if you click elated records of an opportunity and then Connections, you will see all the connected records.

Refer this for more details on Connections- https://www.magnetismsolutions.com/blog/adammurchison/2017/10/30/a-quick-guide-to-connections-in-microsoft-dynamics-365

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Guido,

this looks quite promising at the first look, but it seems with that solutions its not possible to give those associated contacts individual attributes for each Opportunity individual attributes, does it? Especially because we want to bring those contacts in connection with other contacts indivudually on each opportunity they are important for.

    Thanks for your help!
