Update Migrated Data in Business Central

Hi,

Last month I have used Cloud Migration Tool for getting Legacy data from Dynamics GP into Business Central.

Now I am trying to update my data with latest one. But couldn`t find option for the same. I tried to run the Cloud Migration Setup again, and thought that It will override data with latest ones.

But it didn`t worked, I can find older data only.

Please advise.

I have the same question (0)

Hello Bhagyashree.  We are overwriting most of the data each time a migration is run but some tables do only look for deltas.  We do recommend deleting your company in BC, then run thru the Assisted Setup again to create a new, empty company shell and then run the migration again.  This is the cleanest approach.  I would encourage you to check out this source for all things GP to BC migration:

Landing Page for GP to BC Migration Information - Dynamics 365 Business Central Community

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Warm Regards,

    Hi Desere,

Isn't there a way which we can do wherein we can Migrate latest data without deleting the company, as we have already set up Financial Reports/Currencies/Exchange rates on current company, and wanted to avoid re-setting it up again in new company

E.g I have Migrated data lastly in Month of June and wanted to bring remaining months data till today without deleting the current company

Great question - if you consult the links I sent, you should not be setting up anything in BC until you are happy with the migrated data.  Setting the data up in BC will conflict with the migration tool and not recommended.  What I know user do in these situation is create Config Packages for all the setup they do in BC so when they delete the company and migrate again, they just need to apply the config packages to get moving quickly.
