Global Search on Dynamics 365 App for Phones

I get an error when I click on the Magnifying glass in the upper-right corner to perfrom a global search on the mobile app.

The error is: "Error. This view is unavailable. If you contact support, please provide the technical details." The "technical details" are simply a Session ID.

I have enabled logging on the device but it tells me nothing of importance. Trace logs on th server also yield no information.

It would appear to be a permissions issue as I do not receive the error when logged in as Administrator.

Ughhh, I feel dumb now-- kinda. The Security Role didn't have Read privilege to one of the Entities that was enabled for Global Search. This was intentional as this Role doesn't need access to this entity but I do want it enabled for other Roles. So faced with the decision either to give them Read access or remove the entity from Global Search I went with the former and it is working now.

    Hi Nithya,

Yes, Quick Find is enabled. And both Security Roles already have Read on the Saved View entity.

It is very strange because if I assign a Security Role that does not receive the error to the user, sign on to the app and test it, it works. I then reassign the user back to the Security Role that originally experienced the error and he no longer receives the error. Definitely hitting a bug of some sort. It also seems to be on a per user basis because if I log in with a different user with the same Security Role, I get the error and have to start the process all over again.

If it is something related to the security role, log in as Administrator and go to your security role.

Give the read and write permissions to the saved view.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Joe,
