Removing the customerid from the Case form

Good day,

I will like to remove the customerid from the Case form.

I have hidden this field using the properties of the field but onsave ,the form is unable to save saying you need yo first populate the customer.

I have written jscript code to hide this but still this is still the issue.

How can i go about removing the customer id or customer field from the ms crm case.

Sorry but ...

Unfortunately, you can not remove customerid.

It is a "system required" field. You cannot change its requirement level and therefore cannot remove from the form.

Hi,

In CRM there are 4 requirement levels for a field in CRM.

1. Business Required

2. Business Recommended

3. Optional

4. System Required

If any field is System Required, then the field must be populated and even if you try to create record from background and skip the system required fields, CRM will throw an error.

And, Customer Id field is System Required field on case entity.

Hence you cannot achieve your requirement.

Hi,

In MS CRM, for Create case record, you should enter customerId details. So if you don't want to show that field then OnLoad of a form you need to write a javascript for set lookup value of customer Id by default. This is the only way to make it hidden...

But We should always set value to CustomerId.

Hi Every one I cannot remove this field correct,I just created a business rule that depending on a specific required field on the form populates the customer id in the background ,that them resolved the issue of displaying the customer field to the user
