Need to correct transaction and posting dates

We have an issue where a Scribe import allowed an incorrect date for posting and transaction to be uploaded into GP. We cannot go into GP and change because the date does not exist. I.E. Incorrect date was for 2007 and we do not have a period in GP for 2007. Is there a way to go into SQL and hit all tables where this transaction would be located and change to 2017?

    Hi,

There isn't an automatic or approved method for changing those dates for a posted transaction. I presume your problem is with the subsidiary ledger because the GL won't let you post to a fiscal period that doesn't exist. If you really want to do it you will need to edit the SQL tables. What kind of transaction have you posted, and what is its state?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

It’s a bank transaction. Check type with a decrease adjustment number (if that matters). Transaction and Posting Date were set to the same date of 4/6/2007 which isn’t a year built in the system. The transaction is currently showing up in the banking module only and did not post through to the GL due to the year not being built. But we cannot find the transaction to void it in bank transactions. Therefore we don’t think we can get rid of it unless we change the date in SQL to therefore find it once again.

Is there a reason why you cannot create the 2007 financial period in your company?  We've had a similar issue, only, the user created a future year and we had to create that future year, hundreds of years in the future, to be able to work with the transaction posted in that future period.
