Hi
On looking at an inventory issue report I saw a transaction type of CT which on investigating I realized that CT means Cash Transfer. However, I am trying to understand how this is being used in Inventory.
Could someone throw some light on how this type of transaction is used in the system?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Mark
It is similar to the CG (Cost of Goods) transaction types that are generated from Order Mgmt Invoices (IN) and Credit Memos (CM) transactions. It is the Cost basis of those transactions that get booked to the GL against inventory. For Inventory Issues, Returns and Transfers, a CT transaction gets generated based on the cost of the item(s) recorded in those transactions.
Thanks for the clarification. Indeed "cash transfer" is misleading in the help menu and it had me confused. However, you mentioned that it represents the "cost of the item in the transaction"? Do you mean that this type of transaction involves costing of the inventory item?
It's not "Cash Transfer", it is "Cost Transaction". Used mostly in Inventory Transfers and Issues/Returns transactions. It represents the cost of the item in the transaction. The Help menu has it labeled incorrectly as Cash Transfer. Ran into this a while back myself.
