Send Sales order confirmation from shipping address e-mail

We have a customer that wants the Sales order confirmation report to be sent to the delivery address e-mail instead of the standard e-mail on customer.

I can't solve this by using document layout since there some times is several different delivery addresses on one customer.

When choosing Alternate shipping address instead of the default address then they want to send the order confirmation to the e-mail that is on the Alternative shipping address. Is this possible in BC standard?

Hi Maria,

I don't think so you can achieve this functionality without customization. You have to create sales order report extension and need to write code to use email address of delivery address. Please contact to your development partner.

I know this is a capability of Dynamic Ship by Insight Works. I do not know of a way to do this in standard BC, without customizations.

As other experts mentioned you either need customization or 3rd party app. I have achieved similar scenario before using below app. If you already using Dynamic Ship then you do not need any other app and you can use that as Ben mentioned.

Have you tired out the customer document layouts and see if you can achieve what you want using that function?

Hi, I just discussed this before, and you can do it using standard functions.
Of course it can also be customized. I illustrate two solutions, hope it can give you some help.

Change default customer/vendor email address when sending emails (For example, sending an order to A, sending an invoice to B)

In this case we can't use document layouts. The order confirmation needs to be sent to the e mail that is on the delivery address and the customer has from 2-30 different delivery addresses. So I can't add just one e-mail in the document layout for order confirmation. It's different from one order to antohter due to the delivery address.

If we use Dynamic Ship by Insight, will the invoice still go to the "Bill to" customer that is the or will this setting override all reports?

Hi Inge,

Yes, document layouts will not work in this case since it should be different e-mail receiver depending on the delivery address.
