Dear Experts,

I need your help, i want to share the power bi reports with business central users, i published reports in a work space that has been accessible to other power bi users who are also business central users, when i tried sharing a demo report and when i log into business central i can't see that report, and when i share the same report in my workspace not that workspace that has been accessible with others then i am the only one who is able to see the reports not other... can you please let me know how can i view my reports as well as other users can see? i have gone through lots of documentations so far, nothing come up yet, i have gone through one document it is saying to set up row level security in power bi, in row level security i did and assigned roles to 2 power bi pro users who are also inside business central but still can't see it.

Kindly Help.

Arif

    Hello,

You can embed the reports in BC.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-powerbi

    Hello,

Out of the box you can only embed the reports, the role center can be assigned to users. There may be other partners / MVP's that do have out of the box solution for you that meets your business requirements. I will leave it up to the community to provide further suggestions. Eager as you may be as well, interested to see what is out there.

    Thanks.

Proposed answer: Publish a Power BI App

I was searching for the same thing and believe I've found the answer. It seems like when calling the Embedded API, Business Central is doing a check like IF (Workspace App Exists For My User). If there's an App published, the Reports show up. You don't even need the Reports to be part of the App, as long as the App exists the reports show up. I believe the user in question also needs to have the App "installed" for their user.

My guess is this is related to the fact that many times BC Apps are displayed as the default path, which creates a new Workspace. So in effect the App is already published.

The behavior is not consistent with SharePoint and other Dynamics 365 programs.
