@YUN ZHU: No, it's supposed to be an out of the box feature that has been available since inception.

Could you provide some screenshots, preferably showing the page and table numbers?
    For example,

    Hi,

I'm a bit confused because Business Central doesn’t have a dedicated “Project Manufacturing” module. However, you can achieve project-based production by combining Projects and Manufacturing features:
    Setup:
    > Create a Job for the project and define tasks.
    > Link production orders to the job by assigning the Project No.
    > Use Job Planning Lines to budget materials, capacity, and costs.
    Process:
    > Track actual costs via Job Ledger Entries and monitor WIP.
    > Use standard manufacturing for BOMs, routings, and capacity planning.

For complex scenarios, consider Advanced Manufacturing + Jobs or ISV solutions that extend project-based production.

    Thanks
    Rishabh

You can go with manufacturing an Item attached to a Project for it's consumption.
That's what if you meant with Project Manufacturing. Project is a different module and manufacturing is a different module altogether.

    Hi,
    here’s the quick, practical path:
    1) Set up
    • Items/BOMs/Routings: build product BOMs and routings; set items to Make-to-Order (Reordering Policy = “Order”) if you want supply per job.
    • Jobs (Projects): configure Jobs Setup, posting groups, and WIP method.
    • Linking keys: enable Job No./Task No. on production posting (Manufacturing Setup → “Use Job Queue Nos.” isn’t needed; you just need Job fields visible on journals).
    2) Plan the project
    • Create a Job → add Job Tasks and Planning Lines (Items/Resources/GL).
    • For manufactured items, set Planning Line Line Type = Item and use Planning → Create Prod. Order (or Supply to Job).
    3) Execute manufacturing
    • BC creates a (Firm Planned) Prod. Order tied to the Job/Task.
    • Pick/consume components and Output finished goods with Job No./Task No. so costs flow to the job.
    • Post labor via Timesheets/Prod. Journal (capacity) or Job Journals for services.
    4) Control & bill
    • Run Job WIP to recognize costs/revenue over time.
    • Use Job → Create Sales Invoice to bill milestones/actuals.
    Tips
    • Use Reservations/Order Tracking so MTO supply pegs to the job.
    • If you don’t want full MFG, you can skip Prod Orders and consume Items directly via Job Journal, but you lose routing/capacity detail.
