'Data Export service' in combination with CRM Online

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We use CRM Online, and since this year we use Microsoft's 'Data Export service'. When we activate DES, CRM's performance decreases a lot. We are also using Click Dimensions, and in that situation only 1 out of 1,000 EmailEvents return to CRM. That is a painful situation. When we switch off DES, all EmailEvents return correctly to CRM again.

What can we do to use DES and CRM Online at the same time?

    Hi Hidde,

You can open a support ticket with MS from the Office365 admin portal. Or you can ask your partner to help you out with this.

    Regards,

    Martijn

Click Dimensions didn't see anything strange on their side. We have had a couple of Skype-sessions to exchange logs and experiences. With Microsoft, Click Dimensions, CRM Partners (our partner) and myself. The fact is that enabling DES immediately affects the CRM performance. I noticed Microsoft's representative didn't have a lot of DES knowledge.

Interesting blog! We are on CRM4 as well. How can I open a support ticket with MS? The only option is on this Community. In O365 I get forwarded to my partner, but I prefer to contact MS directly.

    Hi,

The DES shouldn't affect performance since it is linked to a replica of the CRM database via an async queue.

The transactions times should not change when you add an Export Profile - perhaps this is something that you can talk to Click Dimensions about as well.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Hidde,

It might be best to open a support ticket with MS. In our region there seem te be performance issues. Our fellow Dutch community member Bas blogged about this recently: journeyintocrm.com/.../1772
