Subscription Billing - Rent applying to the following month

I have started using subscription billing in Business Central. Among other things, I will be invoicing rent. I want to be able to post and send an invoice in February, but the rent should apply to March and this should be shown on the invoice.

Right now, the invoice is sent and posted in February, and the rent is shown as applying to February.

How can I solve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

If possible, I would need to review the billing period for the lines in order to have the correct record for the month you want.

    Hello,

You don’t need to change the posting date — you need to control the service period. In Subscription Billing, the invoice posting date (February) is independent from the Service Period Start/End Date, which is what prints as the rental period. So set the subscription’s Next Billing Date / Billing Period correctly (so it generates 01/03–31/03), or manually adjust the Service Period Start/End Date on the invoice line before posting; that way you can post and send the invoice in February while clearly showing that the rent applies to March.

    Hi,

This can be done by using deferral inside Customer contract. If you have setup your subscription contract lines to defer, based on posting and subscription period, system will do deferral posting.

You can check the guide and setup related to Deferral on this link - Subscription contract deferrals - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

✅ Tick the checkbox below to mark the answer as verified, if it helped resolve your question.

    Regards,
    Dhiren.
