Requirements needed: Print Logo on POS Receipt

Hello Experts,

we would like to print a logo on our POS receipts.

I know the process on how to add a logo to the receipt in D365 Commerce and also was already able to add one logo to our receipt and print it. So the function per se is working. I just need to know the exact requirements for the images to be able to print them on our receipts.

We are using D365 Commerce Installed product version : 10.0.9 (10.0.383.10010)Installed platform version : Update33 (7.0.5559.35512) and an EPSON TM-88VI printer that we are feeding via network.

I am now trying to print a different logo on the receipt, as the first one was too big.

I tried all kind of things:

- different sizes (i have read that the max width should not be more than 250 pixels; I have tried smaller and larger pictures)
- different picture formats (I tried .bmp; .jpg; .png)
- different image names ( I have read that in the old days the picture needed to be called "RetailPOSLogo.bmp", so i tried this without success)
- different images per se
- different colors (monochrome, full color, bitmap)

...all without success...

As the one image we are able to print was uploaded a long time ago, I do not remember the exact details about.

My question now is: What specific requirements do I need for the image to be able to print it?

Any recommendations are highly appreciated!

    Hello Michael,

You can refer to this document, in case you haven't found in yet:

    cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../

I know it's for AX2012, but most of the steps are the same.

I had this issue in the past, and I was able to make it work with Virtual Peripheral.

After a lot of testing, the dimensions of the image I used were 200x33 pixels (Width x Height)

Also, I saved it as a .png file and also monochrome, not color.

    Hope this helps,

    Alexandru

    Hello Alexandru,

thanks for getting back to me!

I was able to solve it yesterday as well.

I used a .bmp file with dimensions 272x261 and bitmap depth 1.

The datasize of the image was 9,23kb which makes a notibale difference when printing the receipt.

This works now but I still think its a shame that Microsoft is unable to convert any picture you upload to a fitting format during the process. Also there is no original documentations on the requirements from Microsoft. At least I have not found them anywhere which is also highly unprofessional.
